Hello all,
For about a week and a half now, I've been trying to get the
reactor card to work in my computer. It plays all my dos game's perfect.
I can play N2 in DMA mode with all the graphics turned on and all my
other games I can have all the graphics on.
Now thw problem, WIN95. It just won't load the damn thing up on
the first try. I have disabled my old video card by taking the check
mark out of the configuration box. So I go to settings and click on
change display type. Then I click on have disk. It seems to copy all the
files onto my computer. So I change the colors from 16-bit to 256, click
apply and restart my computer. It say it's updating my files and
restarting WIN95. Then the screen goes blank...and stays blank. So I
have to hit control, alt, and delete to start the computer up again.
After a few seconds, I have to choose my configuration, so I do
and then a screen comes up and I choose to boot it up in normal mode. So
WIN95 loads but I get an error message saying it can't load 256 colors
cause my adaptor is not set or my hardware doesn't support. So I'm
forced to run it in 16-bit color. I,ve tried 256, 16-bit high and 32-bit
high and the same thing always happens.
O.K. now after running a game in dos mode, or just turning on the
computer, I get like blue pixel dust or something. So once again I have
to hit control, alt, and delete and restart the computer. Then I have to
choose the configuration and I then choose to do a normal boot. Then
WIN95 loads in 16-bit color.
This has been going on now for about a week. I've called tech support
and they don't think it will work on my system. They want me to send it
back! Problem is, I don't want to because I play all the dos games in
perfect display. I have tried evrything that I can think of and nothing
seems to work. I just want WIN95 to load up on the first time and to get
better colors than 16-bit in Win. I get great colors in WIN95 with my
old video card. So for the last time, I'm asking, does anyone have any
more suggestions on what to do? I'm running a Hewlett Packard Pavilion,
P150 with 16MB RAM.
PLEASE HELP ME!!
Matt
