Trouble with making NL event logos need help

I tried to make an event logo for Nascar Legends by taking an original
event logo and cutting the part from the championship schedule page that
they used from the layout.dat. Then I pasted that over the words so I
could use it for a template. But it wont show up in the game. What did I
do wrong. I'm using  Paint Shop Pro 7 and 8.

Its been a long time since I messed with them, but IIRC it has to be saved
in a odd format.  If its a tga file it needs to be a 16bit tga not a 24 bit
version.  Look at your file size compared to an original. They should be the
same

And you may also be adding some sort of compression that the game doesn't
like. Like MD said above, these sims wanted exact dimensions and certain bit
depths within the targa format to work. As for compression, I am pretty sure
it only works with "uncompressed" TGAs. If you haven't already tried it, set
it to 16bit, no compression, and see if that works for ya.
