NASCAR Racing I Die-Hards,

I need some setup information (not setup files, please--they never work
for me...) about Talladega, using restrictor plates.  I've got the
gearing (I think), camber, and stagger OK.  But I am only running in the
low 180mph's.  I think my best so far is 183.2xx.  But how in the wide
world of sports does one get the spoiler so low as to hit 195-200 on the
straight, and still make it through the tri-oval?  I guess that is my
main concern: the dogleg.

Any small amount of help would be appreciated, ahem..., and would
probably change the newsgroup's subject to, well, auto simulators...!

(Enter fire department...)

I've run a 196.xxx at Taladega with random weather in a race.  I tend to
set up my car pretty loose, so this advice may not work for you,
depending on your driving style, but here goes.

Cross Weight:
Usually between -40 and -70, depending on track conditions.

Shocks & Air Pressure:
Maximum, maybe a little softer shocks on the right side if your tires go
away too fast.

Move the rear weight as far back as you can without getting too loose,
the right bias should be all the way over.

Move your spoiler all the way down, your air dam all the way up, then
just tweak until it feels right.

Good Luck!

How do you modify your air dam in Nascar 2?

You can't adjust the air dam in N2, its mandated at a certain height,
just like in real WC.
