After finishing the pre-race warm-up, the game took me to the race.
However, it gave me the same tyres that I had been using in the warm-up,
and I wasn't able to change them, despite having lots of unused tyres
left.

Unless it starts to rain (in which case you can choose rain tyres) in
Formula 1 you have to use the same tyres you nominated for qualifying in the
warm up/race.
