wheel question

I've been considering buying a FF wheel, but the only place I could
mount it would be on my desk's keyboard tray.  The tray is on rollers
and not even 3/4" think so I've been wondering if it is sturdy enough.
Anyone else mount a FF wheel on an keyboard tray?

As an alternative I've been wondering if I could just rest the wheel on
my lap.  This is what I did with my non=FF psx wheel and had no
problems.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Kevin

I fix my MS-FF wheel to my keyboard tray and have had no probs with
sturdiness. However find some way to stop the tray sliding in and out as
it can be very disconcerting at times ;)

I have a sheet of melamine kitchen worktop that sits on my desk. It is the
same width  and protrudes out about 8inches from the front of my desk. I
simply sit the monitor on to of this and clamp the front of it to the
desktop with some woodworking G-clamps. This combination provides a stable
platform on which to bolt my MSFF.

Yeah, this works good.  I do it too on one of my desks :)
