Anyone know anything about what has happened to this game? Has it been
officially cancelled ?
Are they making any progress? Is the PS2 version, or possibly an XBOX
version , still under development?

The PS2-version got a new name "TIR". I think it stands for Total Immersion
Racing.
From what i know, its not cancelled  for PC (they havent said anything more
than WSC from the West will not be released this year).

Ok, I'll assume you don't actually know and if you do, you hooked me :-)

WRC - World Rally Championship
WSC - World Sportscar Championship (or something)

Aside from both series using cars with 4 wheels and an engine, they
don't share much :-), WSC would be like the American LeMans Series I
guess

"Git th' net ready! I'm gonna land a big 'un!"

Yeah, I do know what the difference is ... I was going to make some joke
about Tommi Makinen driving a WSC car in Corsica, and/or Wayne Taylor
driving a Pugeot 206 at Le Mans this year, but I just couldn't work the joke
right.

It was late, and my brain was (obviously) fuzzy.

Your patience is appreciated,

Tony

Well they essentially used to do that at the Targa Florio up until it was
cancelled 1972 (or maybe 71, I can't remember off the top of my head, and my
books are in the other room).

Hell, Ferrari used to run P3's & P4's and 250LM's. The pictures are
frighteningly cool.

And Porsche ran smaller stuff. Which makes logical sense: the smaller the
road, the smaller the car.

Anyway, that and other open road races were truly spectacular in both
concept and execution. Sadly,. they no longer exists except as staged
rallies.

Yeah, that's right.

And the very successful Lancia Stratos had a Ferrari V6 powering it to many
many rally wins.

Also, people used to rally Mercedes SL's and those big Citroens (was never
good remembering Citroen #'s) and a bunch of other "normal" sedans and such.

It used to be very different up until the mid-70's.
