A friend of mine is having a minor problem with his controls. Every time
he starts N1, using nascar, multi or eterm and the game starts up and he
goes to a race, the screen for calibrating the steering and pedals comes
up.  After he sets them everything is ok until he exits the program and
starts a new race. This happens every time you start a race on hawaii. It
is not a problem but more of an inconvience. I have copied his
controls.cfg files from N2 and put them in N1. No help. It does not do
this in N2 running in dos or through W95.  He is using an Ensoniq plug and
pray soundcard running through joystick port. Does anyone have any ideas
that we can try. We are going to try a thrustmaster game card next.

One problem i had when i would quit n1 was that i was somehow still
holding my joysick ;) or stepping on the pedals as i exited the program.
So when I restarted the game, it seemed to look for where the stick /
pedals were last time it exited.
If it doesn't find them in the same location, it will force you to
recalibrate.  I'm not sure if this is 100 % true but just try to make sure
your hands and feet are off everything when you leave the game and see
what happens next time.
