Why don't people know what "EXCLUSIVE" means!!!!!

Sega has the exclusive rights to the Daytona name. That means that if you
have NASCAR 2, you can't have Daytona. How hard is that to understand? If
the lawyers called about the track edited version of Daytona for The Pits,
why would Sierra jeopardize the licensing agreement with NASCAR trying to
find a loophole to release Daytona or a clone? Sega Daytona sucks, it does
not represent Daytona in a realistic manner and I'm upset that I can't use
it in NASCAR 2 but that's life, I've still got Talladega. I can't beleive
that people are still talking about a Daytona patch, it's got to be one of
the most annoying longest running threads I've seen. If were all going to
pretend we are real racers lets try to behave like *REAL RACERS* and stop
*WHINING* <G> Let's just enjoy the game and be glad that we have it.

Thanks...John

John:

I haven't been posting whining messages about Daytona, but I do have
some food for thought for some to chew on.  Daytona is different than
other tracks for many longtime Nascar fans.  Nascar has been there for a
loooooong time.  This track is as the Brickyard is for Indycars.  I hate
whiners as much as the next guy, but this track has been hyped into the
expectations of many sim racers.  It's absence is a real letdown and
does merit conversation...

Happy racing,
Matt Lewis

John, you are absolutly right on this.  You would think by reading all the
posts on this subject that Sierra left Daytona out on purpose.  I'm sure if
there was any way that they could have included Daytona in N2 they would
have.  And as far as Sega goes, I don't blame them for guarding the rights
to Daytona.  I bet they had to pay quite a bit of money for the exclusive
rights to it.  And  while I'm at it let me put my 2 cents worth in on this
so called "bad" game.  I had never played N1 before tonight at a freinds
house, and the difference is like night and day.  As far as I'm concerned
this is one of the best game I have every played, and it is the best racing
sim I have every played.  Granted the save race option would have been
nice, but I can live without it.  And what I can see the at least half of
the problems people are having with game not running right on their PC's is
from not reading the book.  And before anbody says it, yes I am guilty of
this myself, but I don't get up here and flame the programers for my
mistakes.  Just my 2 cent worth.

How many REAL racers do you know that don't whine?!?!? Nigel Mansell
being perhaps the best example which leaps instantly to mind.

If there is ever an Olympic whining contest, several of those guys will
be in there....

Cheers!
John

That's right, Damon is not a Whiner.  BUT, Jimmy Vasser sure does whine
like a REAL racer.  "WAAAAA! Scott Pruett passed me!   WAAAA! I had the
F#*$ing speed limiter button pushed!"  ....Bunch of wimps IMHO...

Little Al and Damon both break the "whiner" mold, do they not?

I was thinking more along the lines of the Intimidator, The Iceman, and
Little Al :-)

All:

What I don't understand is that Daytona is OWNED and operated by
NASCAR(Bill Frances Jr. and Family)!  IF they want NRO so BADLY and
want it to become a "NEW NASCAR Division" , why won't they gives
Papyrus the rights for Daytona to include it in the game.  Oh well, I
guess I'll keep wonder..
