Says it all doesn't it? Did it last night with a Ferrari. Tried today with
the lotus, and I knew I could do it. On the first timed lap, I did a 9.09
despite several BIG spins. But in all of the five or six laps, I screwed up
with 1 or 2 big big spins on every lap. Looks like luck's not with me
tonight.

I'm learning the Ring at the moment and It's tempting after doing a decent
lap to think "if I can just do the same lap in the Lotus, then it's gonna be
miles faster" but it just doesn't work out that way.  Too many laps ruined
by spinning, plus even if you did finish a clean lap, you'd probably find
you were driving so cautiously it was slower than your laps with the other
cars.
I made big improvements at the ring after switching to the Brabham, it's
really well behaved and seems to have tons of grip there.  Of course, it's a
pain to drive with the default sound effect so you might want to try the
GPLEA sound pack, which improves the whole game another 5%, and while you're
there get their new Brabham carshape/graphics as well.
