Hello?
Unimpressed, is this thing on? Software mode.. turn it on in gpl and then
look at accelerated mode. Now if gp3 is the same step between modes this
game is going to be ***y stunning.

Sheeesh people have seen a few screenshots of an unfinished game running in
software mode and are already bagging it. Wonder why they didnt realease
more screens years ago? duh?

Still happy laughing at thos ubi games untill gp3 comes out.

We'll see, won't we. The thing I can't quite comprehend is if the GP3 is
going to be released in the spring then how come they haven't implemented HW
acceleration yet. Can you say "GP2 graphics engine"?

The very first screenshots of GPL two and a half years ago were OTOH HW
accelerated and we didn't *have to* look at ugly SW rendering ...

They shouldn't have released these screenshots either, IMO.

We all know that software mode is going to be slow and crappy. The point
is, why in hell didn't they FIRST make the hardware mode, IF they
seriously do plan to implement it.

Think about it.  Two main things to a sim is the physics, and the
graphics ( yes I know, sound, control, blah, blah as well)
Physics is pretty much a constant, and is unlikely to change drastically
in an 18 month development cycle.
On the other hand, graphics is improving all the time, and in 18 months
can change drastically.
Which do you do first, given that you already have a serviceable physics
and graphics engine ?
I know which one I do first and make sure I get it right.  Then drag in
the graphics artists to implement all the latest fandangoes in graphics.

Just a guess, but it makes sense to me :))
