Anybody know howto fix the garble, or is it win98? Surely there must be some
way that it can be fixed.

    It's probably WIN98. Everyone I know that bought the Beta version
uninstalled it because of all the bugs. I'm using an SB16 in my system with
WIN95 with no problems at all.
