wheel setup in windows 98

I can't use my wheel (Interact SV-283 V4fx Racing Wheel) as controller id 2
but it works fine as id 1. My Joystick (Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro
USB) works fine as any.

If I set my Wheel as id 2 and check it's properties then I get the error
message:

Virtual Device Driver Not Found

Necessary Support Files Not Found

As soon as I go back to the wheel as id 1 and the stick as id 2 everything
works perfectly.

If I want to play a racing game I have to have my wheel as id 1, if I want
to play a flight sim I have to have my stick as id 1. I have got fed up with
changing my controller id every time I want to play a different type of
game.

I mainly play racing games so for ease of use I would prefer to have my
wheel set as controller id 2 and my joystick as controller id 1. The reason
for this is that all the racing games I have will accept control from id 2
but some of my other games such as Gunship will only accept control from id
1.

My soundcard is a SoundBlaster 1024 and I am using the Creative Gameport
Joystick Driver.

Hope this makes sense.
