Carset Woes

I have had to reload NASCAR Racing and the Track Pack twice now
because of Carsets.  I have (barely) 4mb of Memory.  I used the
original (94 cars) but have been adding others.  I added a 96 set, to
several others.

After adding it, and trying it out (it worked), I shut the game down.
The next day, I went to play and it said "Could not locate CARS.
Incomplete instalation or insufficient memory (or something).  "

Reloaded the game, added 96 set, and played.  Went back in, same
error.

I have had as many as SIX car sets installed at once . . . never a
problem.

What am I doing wrong?

Do I have to reload the game?  Is there a command line option to force
the game to revert back to the original set, so I can adjust the sets?

Please help <g>

you can just delete the "gameopts.cfg" file in the nascar root
directory instead of reinstalling.  You'll just have to reselect all
your options ie. graphics, etc

always make sure the  ".dat" file in  "nascar\cars\94cars"  is
94cars.dat  or the same as the directory.

apparantly, after you make changes, the last carset you were using was
not saved and the next time you started the game, the car set was
missing or misnamed.

I hope this didn't confuse you any more than you already were.  I
confused myself too, so if I'm not accurate,  someone please add on.

The problem you have is that somehow after you left the game, you have
either erased or renamed that last carset that nascar had loaded. Maybe
you renamed cars96 to nascar96 or something. Maybe it got corrupted. The
program is looking for that set and cant find it. that's why it's doing
that. make some generic carset and try renaming it and see what happens.
