I installed the damned game SIX TIMES and tried a VARIETY of paths,
directories, even including the default and still got no decisive results:
still getting prompt to put that damned cd rom back into the drive.  I have
NEVER had any experiance like this before, I returned the game.  Good
ridduence.

Just a quick one
any one having problems running andretti racing
i have intsalled it ok, but when i try ro run the game
it says please insert cd in drive etc.
its really annoying as the disk is ok etc, has anybody else had this
problem and managed to solve it its really pissing me off.

Yeah- i think from memory i changed the install path to one which had long
filenames... i wanted to stick in program files... didn't work, . so i used
the default.

I assume it hated the long file names, but maybe even changing the default
installation directory causes headaches.

i had same problem talked to ea for half hour long distanse  and they
couldnt figure ot either! so i returned the damn thing

I did finally get the game running after 3 installs. I used the default
installation. However, once i got into the game i had to change to the
primary display driver in the options menu. I also had to uncheck the force
feedback option in the controller menu. Once I did that the game ran nice
and smooth. I have ICR2, FIGP, and mscart. I think Andretti racing actually
has better graphics than those sims. My system is a 180mmx, 64mb ram, Viper
330 and Monster 3D. I was about to give up and return the game but for some
reason it decided to install and now all is well. The game is definetely an
arcade racer but if you like easy car setups and near 3dfx graphics then
this is'nt a bad racing game. That's If you can get past the initial
installation.

I had this problem too, tried re-installing it, changing drive letters, ect,
and never got it to work. I eventually took it back and traded it for Indy Car
Racing II !
