I reported here a few weeks back that GPL was available at Office Place in
Toronto (Mississauga) for $15--half the normal $30 as part of a sell-off of
old software. Now the remaining copies are down to $4.88!! There are 5
left, since I just picked up 2 more this evening. These are obviously full
versions with the manuals, etc.

GP3 is $15 at CompuSmart as well, I noticed a couple of days ago.

Marc, your duty in this situation is clear: buy all remaining copies
yourself and offer them at cost in the channel and other sim-racing sites.
I distributed 8 copies in this manner (after reading of others doing the
same thing on the HighGear forums) and in the process converted several top
arcade NFS5 racers into gpl fanatics. So go forth and proselytize !

Oh! Oh! I've looked and looked at local shops...not to be found.
Wanna set me up with one at a good price? As soon as I get my new system in a
few weeks GPL is my first thing to try.

I live in Quebec, and there are at least 25 full copies of GPL for $CAD 9.97
at my local grocery store. The only problem is that they are the French
language version... Anyone know if I buy this version if it will work with
upgrades and patches properly?

Their phone number is (905) 615-0808...perhaps people should call them and
pay to have it couriered?...it would still be very cheap! I am excessively
busy these days, though the charitable sentiment is a good one.

a french version works fine for me (patch & new cars & new tracks)
no trouble at all !
