We so many real tracks to be modelled, one must wonder why anyone would take
his time to do such silly tracks ;) Aside from the novelty factor of Ascot
and Infinity, I doubt anybody will race there on a frequent basis...

well, considering I now have 72 tracks in my n2k2 tracks directory, I dont
mind several silly tracks, I actually wish the stunt track from gpl would be
converted to n2k2 ...

From my point of view, there are several reason really.

The first is that all the details that make a real track feel like the real
thing take a lot of extra time to get right. I usually don't feel it's worth
the hassle. Also, a big part of real tracks are the custom Trackside
Objects, which no one currently has a good way of creating (for NR2002).
...and of course, no matter how close the track is, it's usually never good
enough.

Most of the real tracks for stock cars are short tracks and those are the
tracks that NR2002 has the most problems with.

Many of the real tracks are somewhat similar to tracks already in the game.
I would rather make something that gives a different racing experience.

But mostly, I just make what I want to make (for whatever reasons) and if
other people enjoy them, Great! If not, I don't really care ;p...

None of those happen to be the Lausitz oval in Germany do they?  Our
league could really do with it...

Keep on keeping on, I say!  Tho I would avoid small twisty road
courses (fantasy or conversions)-frankly I don't know how the Winston
guys get around Sears Point without wiping out every 5th lap.  Bull
Run OTOH is something which works better for those top-heavy
behemoths.
