"Could not load track description" Help!

by Mitc » Tue, 17 Nov 1998 04:00:00

I keep getting this message "Could not load track description"
when joining a C***te race.  I did a
reinstall yesterday and it fixed the problem.  Today I tried to join
Darlington and received the same message, "Could not load track description"
It does it online as well as offline.  Any suggestions other than
re-install.  Tired of moving around .stg's.

BTW this has never occurred in the past.  Recent upgrades to Win98, IE5.

Maybe you got a corrupted calendar..  you don't always need to reinstall the
whole game.. just load your CD-Rom and explore it.

Try to copy and paste the corrupted track from the CD-Rom into your Nascar 2
folder.  And why you are there bring back the original calendar files.
Sometimes if you start playing with adding/substrating tracks you can forget
to take stuff out of the calendar files.  Like in the list of tracks in the
calendar file the track numbers might be in the wrong order, etc..

Oh and if you got the GNS expansion pack it triple the possible problems,
since you got now other *.cal for BGN and fantasy tracklist.

I hope I helped.. since with a normal installation you shouldn't have a
problem with this. Oh yeah, maybe check out of some files are "read-only" in
the track folder that doesn't work... can't make it worse to try ;)

fiddling
with.
