Jeff Gordon strapped into the navigator's seat for a short rallye trip
with WC Marcus Grohnholm  JG could be heared shouting amazement on his radio
for most of the ride, up until the point Gronholm chopped a corner and
rolled the Puegot 206 about 4 times.  Thanks to ESPN news for that little
video.
JG was unhurt and was jumping up and down like a school kid after being
extracted from the crumpled Pug.

I saw the broadcast from ROC on Eurosport and I must say that watching
Gordon was neat...   He was sooooo thrilled after the roll - saying how cool
it was etc.

I actually think he would have like to do it one more time 'cause he smiled
from ear to ear !

Gained a few bits of respect from this person btw.

Gordon is wasting his talent in stock cars.  Yeah, he's making a pile
of cash and has his face plasted all over billboards in North America,
but he should seriously consider switching series while he's still
relatively young.

And what's wrong with that?  I think most of us would probably kill to be in
the same situation...<g>

I'd rather do whatever gave me the most satisfaction, regardless of
the money.  I'm stupid like that tho.

In the case of Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart, who grew up as fans of
USAC/CART, I think it would rule if they started a CART team together.
It would draw attention to the series, it would diversify their racing
portfolios, and it would give them a chance to show how great they
really are.  Better yet, imagine a Gurney/Ford F1 car with
Gordon/Stewart driving...  think F1's popularity might take off here?

The difference in satisfaction levels between different racing series is
probably miniscule compared to the money involved.  From MY point of view, give
me the opportunity in ANY car.  Oh, and I'd get paid(quite well) too?!?  That's
a win-win.

Maybe.  But, there would be the difficulty of funding the startup. :(
