Jerky Controls?

Jerky Controls?

Does anyone but me experience occasional erratic movement from their
wheel in NR2 under Win95?  At first I had this problem out of a
joystick, then I went to a wheel.  Under DOS, no problem.  Under Win95,
I seem to be more friendly with the wall!!

Any help would be appreciated!!

I experienced the same with a joystick in ICR2 and GP2 under Win95
(DOS-box and even in "native" DOS 7.0, IIRC). It resembled a lot the
jerky movement in N2 everybody kept talking about after the first
patch. I cleaned the pots, even exchanged them, only to find out that
everything worked fine with a DOS 6.22 startdisk, while the problem in
Win95 persisted. My half-educated guess in that matter is that either
Win95's game port control collides with the game, or some Win95 job in
the background occasionally screws up the timing when reading the
pots.

did you calibrate the joystick in Win95 AND N2?  is there a reason
for running N2 in Windows95?

I think so, but I don't remember exactly.

None, other than the annoyance of having to reboot.
