Why didn't C&D go over well?

Why didn't C&D go over well?

So tell me...why is the game/sim Car & Driver bashed so much on
the net?

Yes, the sound sucked - to some extent - I mean, what does a vette
sound like from the inside?  I'm sure the growl isn't all there.

It's biggest limitation is you need a 486 to be driveable (sp?).

The cars looked good, the tracks are architecturally correct (no
texturing however), you race against yourself so you should always
have good competition on the track, never tried it but there is
modem play, replays are good, and the car dynamics are the best
to date (IMHO).  So why?

cos it was crap.:-)

didn't notice actually - all car sim sounds suck really.

I have a 33 and it was quite jerky.

No  they weren't, you try building a race circuit out  of  30foot
sq  slabs  of  FLAT  concrete, - nice  until  you  hit  a  corner
(up/down,  not  left/right! )

Any one want to buy a little used copy?

I'll  admit  the  dynamics  were good but  there  was  no  clutch
control.

No idea! I actually like it sort of. I definitely agree about the
dynamics. I was delighted to almost feel the car. And you don't really
need a 486. I have a very slow 386 SX and I could run it with minimum
detail. The ferris wheel and all that were window dressing, who cares.
Still... it does fail the ultimate test: Will you keep it on your
hard drive... It didn't last long. Shrug...
