in N4 you can coose which one you prefer, D3D or OGL... Exactly as in GPL
(with the patches!).

Nvidia TNT, TNT2, Geforce, Geforce2: No known issues. OpenGL is recommended
using Detonator3 drivers.
I was stuck at 30 fps with my Geforce in OpenGL before I turned off V-sync.
Now I am in the mid forties.
If he has a TNT maybe 30 is all he's going to get!!
