Yes, I wondered what kind of overclocking solutions you RAS maniacs are
running these days. I am making a computer for a buddy of mine, and
unfortunately, the Celery 300A can't be found anywhere.

So, I'd like to hear what speeds you overclockers out there are doing
with the S-370 Celeron chips? What systemspeed and CPUspeed?

I thought that bying the Celeron 333Mhz is a bad idea since it can't do
500mhz.

What other solutions are there?

The most popular Celeron overclocking option now is the 366 o/c to 550MHz.
Just be sure to get a chip from week 22 or later (although people have had
success with chips made back to the 14th week). From the reports I have
heard the success rate for this chip is very high, at least as high as the
300a/450 rate. There are a few online retailers offering pretested 366/550
chips for a higher price. A quick search should turn these up, or take a
look at some of the hardware testing sites.

I would sort of bite the bullet and just get a faster celeron, i mean, IIRC,
the new 500 celery is $130...tho both my non-PPGA 300a (450) and my PII 350
(466!) are still humming along perfectly, oh, 8 months after we built them,
and it's summer in Arizona, and they're still not overheating...

I echo Eric's sentiment. Go for the 366 Celeron, they are the chip of choice
for overclocker's right now.
Fwiw, I love my 300A, been running strong at 450 for me since Jan.

Hello,

Well, some C333 chips do run at 500Mhz, and even more of the new born 366
chips runs at 550 or 567,

Good luck !

I'd go with the Celeron 366 processor, you can get one for about $70 US, Be
sure to get the PPGA chip with the S-code SL36C. I am currently running my

heatsink. I have no stability issues with this system, in fact, It hasnt
crashed yet.... If you are going to overclock I"d recommend the Abit BH6 rev
2 board for its soft cpu menu, it makes overclocking really really easy.

Enjoy

Lately ppga celeron 366s have been doing 550 on a regular basis. I have
one. It needs to be sl36c and week 22 or 25-27 - it should have code
l925xxxx (where 25 is the week).

Just a question, what is the standard voltage for the Cel. 366 chip ?
