Hi All,
I'm looking for a GPL League (preferably the 65 Mod but will gladly run 67,
too) that runs on Tues or Thurs evening (EST USA time zone) or possibly Sat
or Sun mornings.
I run basically the stock mods, meaning I have never used the engine
swappers and that sort of thing but would consider giving it a try. A spec
league would also be okay.
I currently run in several N 2003 online leagues and have run online GPL
pickup races but never a league.
TIA, Timmy

The GPL regulars run a 65 mod division, every other Thursday at 7:30 EST (FV
division runs the Thursdays in between). Half hour practice followed by
30min-45minute race. Running a spec series for the summer while we get used to
the 65 cars but will  switch a virtual prize money/car cost system in the fall.
Details at: http://users.hfx.eastlink.ca/~mackaypenny/gplreg.html

You REALLY need to check out Virtual Online Racers (VOR) -- GREAT
league, with a lot of helpful people.  I'm in my third "season" with
them, and the competition has been fun, fair, and FUN!

Hi Repo,

whereabouts in Scotland do you live? Should you find Germany more
interesting, then maybe we can make a deal ;-)

You should go to see Northwestern Scotland. One of the most beautiful
places on earth I have yet visited, a bit more "hilly" than old
Edinburgh, but worth the trip by all accounts (unless they ruined it
in boy scout camp for you up there ;-)

cheers,

<delurk :)>

Whereabouts in the northwest? I grew up in the western Highlands (in
the area around Gairloch, if you know that bit at all), and I agree,
it's a lovely area - I live in Perth now, but really miss the
Highlands in between visits.

As for Germany, I've never been there yet, but I plan to when I have
enough money, as I've got two very good friends who live there, and I
want to see their home country :-) Even if I can't afford it any
sooner, I definitely plan to visit the 2006 world cup there - maybe by
that time I'll understand the language well enough to manage to
communicate a bit!

My favourites where Ullapool, the Durness area and around Fort William
(not necessarily ben nevis though ;-) I've heard that Gairloch is very
beautiful too, but haven't been there myself.

Whereabouts in Germany do they live?

Yeah, world cup would be nice, maybe we'll go to see an England game
(my son supports them ;-) or heck, who knows, even a Scotland game if
they manage to qualify, and sing Del Amitri's "Don't come home too
soon" at the top of our voices ;-)

All the best,

uwe

Ullapool is nice - I lived partway between there and Gairloch, so
visited it a few times :-) Haven't been to the other areas yet, but I
might do if I have a chance someday.

One in Gelsenkirchen, and one in Gera... would've been a bit easier if
they lived closer together! Of course the easiest way to get to
Germany (only cheap flight from Scotland that I know of) leaves me
somewhere near Frankfurt (Hahn airport), so not really near either of
them ;-)

Lol, that song is incredibly suitable, except for the fact that since
it came out we haven't even left home, so haven't had a chance to go
back too soon! Even if Scotland don't make it though, I know enough
people from other countries to be able to "adopt" some for the
tournament - I was supporting Germany, Holland and Sweden in Euro
2004, and will probably stick with them for the world cup as well.
