no intention to bother, just curious:
why change the original wheel? is the logitech force feedback wheel that
good? doesn't it protrude too much (it looks like obstucting your front
vision).

I also have a hyperstim, which I just got a couple of months ago...

The original Hyper wheel is fantastic, but I wanted to get a feel for FF
using the ergonomics of the Hyper. The LWFF is probably the best FF wheel
around at the moment (software, hardware and FF), so thats why I used it...
Sitting in the car, the top of the steering wheel just protrudes over the
screen by a small amount (about 1 inch) which does not really hinder any
driving game, especially GPL with it's letter box format. I've been driving
with the wheel for the couple of days and my laps times are about the same.

You may also want to check out the following page which may contain some
software of interest to you :)

Les.

The monitor (17 inch) is less than 3 inch (70 mm)higher than before
and it dont obstruct my vision.
In a long course like Nurburgring i am much more consistent, and i
have more fun too.
I feel the weight of the car in the air and when landing i can feel
which wheel lands first.
I can feel if the front wheels loose grip, and i feel if the back
wheels loose grip too and can control it much easier.
In combination with the hyper-pedals its a dream.

Thats a good description of what I've experienced with the LWFF. I've been
experimenting with the GPL core.ini file and the FF settings. So far the
settings I'm using are :-

force_feedback_damping = 60.000000
force_feedback_latency = 0.050000
max_steering_torque = 60.000000

My settings are :

force_feedback_damping = 5.000000
force_feedback_latency = 0.020000
max_steering_torque = 95.000000

I think Hyperstimulator must hurry now to get a FF-wheel out.
My friends was asking me "does it got forcefeedback?" and i answer "no
but it has great pedals!"
I know wath they are thinking (all that cash and no forcefeedback).

You are right Tomas, Hyper are certainly missing sales due to not having a
FF wheel. Thanks for the settings. I'll give them a shot.

Les.
