I hear a lot about GPL being the best racer to play online. Anyone have any
suggestions ?

I ask because I had read about Viper on CNet's game reviews. They said it
had good internet play. After spending my dollars, come to find its
internet play has absolutely no practical use.

Yeah.
Suggesgion 1) Go buy a copy of GPL
Suggesgion 2) Install it
Suggesgion 3) Install GSB
Suggesgion 4) Say goodbye to your social life, relationship with the other
half/wife, kids, drinking buddies ;-)

I have GPL and a 28.8 modem, and I'm from Sweden. I only race online and in
online leagues, and in those leagues I drive against people from Europe and
North America. I've so far completed two online leagues and I'm currently
competing in two leagues. The most number of sim racers I've met in one
single league race is around 15. Mostly we are around 10 at the same time.

GSB: GPL Spy Boy - a client program (downloadable for free) with which to
access the online racing server. You can also access the same server via your
favourite browser on www.vroc.net
It's the tool used to race online with GPL.
