I haven't been able to run Nr2003 for all most a year now.  The menus
started doing some weird things and would lock up.  I'd have to restart the
sim numerous times to be able to run some laps.  So, I stopped running the
sim and reverted back to Nr2002.  Then with all the F1C mods that were
popping up I've been running that most of this year.
Now that I got my Momo figured out I was hoping to get my problems with
Nr2003 figured out.  I never patched the sim so I thought that might fix my
problem.  The patch crashes when it gets to the shared.dat file from the
tracks directory.  I don't know what happened to THAT file, but it must have
gotten corrupt somehow.  Anyway, I moved a few months back and haven't found
the box my *** cd's are in.
I had given up on trying to get it figured out until I find my CD.  I just
thought I would post a request for someone to send me that file so I can get
back to good oval track racing.

Any help would be appreciated,
 Gary Beard

Why not just uninstall and reinstall the entire game? Seems easy enough
to me...

Well, can't play online without the CD anyway, in fact, can you play
the game at all without the CD? I thought there was a no-cd patch out
there, but if memory serves me, it won't run multiplayer.

The multiplayer game is so outstanding that the single player game
pales in comparison. I wouldn't even play if it weren't for multiplayer.

It won't connect via the SIERRA servers,  but the nocd works just fine
in other online situations where you connect via IP#(like most leagues)

A big concern now is that the NR2003 cd disk has become quite rare and very
expensive to replace.
Can anyone post step by step details on how to correctly setup nr2003 for
online play without a cd?
TIA.

Simple, don't log on to Sierra servers :) I think you can race direct IP
without the CD.

Forget mounting the ISO. I could never get it to work. However, way back
when the game first came out someone made a no-cd patch that worked both
online and offline. You can connect just like you do with the CD. There are
a few websites who are now posting it.. Can't tell ya where. sorry.. Don't
what the big guys getting mad. Just start searching as many NR2003 sites as
you can. Yahoo groups is a good place to start.
