I did a lap of 232.something in a Lola/Ford/Goodyear combo.  I don't have
the setup right in front of me.

Do you mind if I post it here???
I have a qual and race setup, can turn about 22x.xxx (possibly faster) in
qual, still need to make adjustments.
Race can get U around at about 22x.xxx.
Can hit almost 240 in backstretch with Qual.
Can take turns at 200 and better, handles turns faster with a smidgen
more of rear bias.....

So??

Best I've got is 235. If you want that you can email me. I don't know how
fast the better drivers are going cause there don't seem to be any world
records for the conversion tracks on any of the usual ICR2 sites.

S.D. Jenkins<<

The other day I finally hit 230.2 mph. I had previously assumed
that the best way to find a good setup was to put a lot of wing
in the car and get the car feeling comfortable in the turns,
then reduce the downforce for more speed. Unfortunately, I could
never get over 226 mph. This time, I decided to dramatically
reduce the downforce, and tinker with the shocks to get the car
feeling somewhat comfortable in the turns. Then I added just
enough wing to keep the car off the walls. I immediately hit 228
and eventually ended up at 230. I'm not done tinkering yet and
won't be satisfied until I can put Arie's speeds to shame.

I used to have a setup that turned a 241, but I accidentally copied
over it and haven't been able to pass 232 since.  I'm wondering if
the difference isn't the second release of Gerhard's track converter.
I got the one with the revised AI after I turned the 241 and think
that the grip might have been changed.  Anyone know?

Dirt

Until recently, I got a top speed of 233.8 in a Reynard/Honda/Firestone
package.  A friend got me a new set up and within the hour I was
knocking on the door of 240.  Indy takes some getting used to,
especially picking up the smoothest line in the turns.  Start at a low
boost setting and work your way up.

My best lap was a 234.362. I did it during a qualify session on my
third lap. Mith my Setup a 230 is no problem. But only if you know
the best line.

I have the 2.0 conversion and I have turned one lap at 242.004, and
four laps at 240.10something.  I rather imagine that some of the real
hotshoes must have gone even faster, too.
