Is it going to support remote client PCs controlling it?

Not at this time, no.  You can use VNC or PC-Anywhere, though, and
they are mature enough to be much more secure than anything I could
come up with.  There is a bit of related good news, though.

If your installation of the sim on the remote system is identical to
that of your local system where the tracks folder and the players
folder are concerned (in other words, you have the same tracks and
players on BOTH machines), you can configure D3 on your local machine
and then just upload all of the data files to the D3 folder on the
remote machine.  Of course, this is just theory until someone
actually tries it.

In D2, there were some fully qualified folder names in the data file,
and this meant that you were required to connect to the remote
machine even just to change a schedule for a configured host.

More good news is that ALL of D3's data files are contained in the D3
folder.  In D2, the scedule files were all saved in their respective
player folders.  This seemed a bit awkward to me.

Ah ok, that doesn't do those of us that rent servers any good as we cannot
get direct access to the server.  Was hoping for something that might allow
access just to the server we rent on that PC.
