     Actually... it *is* possible except for one thing: The only PC
operating system you can run on a DEC Alpha is WinNT and we all know how
well NT supports DOS applications, games in particular. Alpha's shell
out hard drives like crazy, too (I'm not sure who the supplier is). Oh
yeah... they're also really expensive   8 )

I'm not sure where you heard that!  Alphas are terrific on hardrives
for the fact that they rarely hit them.  Unless you'r using UNIX
which clobbers a drive no matter what platform. :)

They are very expensive in the higher CPU speed, but a good
250Mhz or less system is quite affordable for a business,
but still out of reach for most home uses! :)

We have 128Gb of space and have only lost 2 drives.  Those two
were small 700Mb drives and were over 4 years old.
