Hi people

Just a quick note to all fellow England people.
On 'Record Breakers' BBC1 next week there is going to
be a article on some sort of record at the Daytona track, FL.

Probably not for this newsgroup but:-
I had a holiday to the states early this year and managed to visit
C***te Motor Speedway and Daytona, sadly there was no racing, they
were both very interesting all the same. I now have a hunger for
Nascar, but I've never seen any coverage of Nascar in the UK, does
anybody know if (and when) Nascar racing is on any UK channels,
Eurosport has Indycar occasionally but I've never seen any Nascar.

Sky Sports showed the race at Daytona live earlier this year, and has
shown some occasional Nascar truck racing but other than that coverage
of Nascar in Europe is pitiful. You might try writing to Sky to
express your desire to see Nascar - if enough people did then maybe
they would show it - but don't expect a reply !

Shome mistake? They showed all of the Indycar races, but not any of the
Nascar ones AFAIK.

Eurosport covered about half of the Nascar races in highlight form
last year, usually about 2 months late and sometimes out of order. Sky
covered the Bristol night race live two years ago but neither has
shown any this year to my knowledge.

From reading other newsgroups like r.a.s.f1, it sounds like Eurosport
will be showing Nascar & more IndyCars next year, following their loss
of F1 coverage.

When? Unless they were showing at 4 in the morning under the title of
Over 60s World Curling Championships then I don't see how I could have
missed all 40 odd races this year. Far as I know they've only ever
showed Nascar as part of Speedworld on Monday nights and even that was
last year.

Fingers crossed.
I'm not to impressed with Indycar, but what I've seen of Nascar looks
good. My wife had a total lack of interest in any motorsport, but
after a visit to C***te and Daytona this year, our next holiday to
Florida has to be when the racing is on!

Doesn't Sky Sports (2?) show NASCAR?

Cant say I have seen any Nascar on Sky Tv, I know Eurosport showed most
rounds last year (95).

I think its very bad news that Eurosport have lost the GP. I think someone
should DEAL with Mr Eccelstone. Before he ***s GP like he did with WSC.

Lucky you then!

Could have been as part of one of the general magazine programs. I keep
an eye out for specific mentions of Indycar or Nascar in the listings,
but can't usually be bothered sitting through 2 hours of club racing.

Cheers,
Richard
