Problem with F1GP EXE file - JJ Lehto is too fast!

When using any F1 Editors for the PC, to change the horsepower ratings for each
car, I find that when I change car number 6's HP rate (Going on 1994 car numbers
) to a medium one, and change car 5's hp to high, Lehto goes very quick!

Usually in third place!  What Can I do to make it more realistic?

Appologies to JJ if your reading this...

I have a similar problem. Sometimes, Pacifics qualify in the top 10 even
with HP 500 and driver rating 40. HELP!

As  the author of an F1GP editor for the Amiga, I had the same problem when
trying   to  make  Jos  Verstappen  and  Michael  Schumacher  perform  very
differently.   There  is one very important factor to take into account (or
at  least,  this  is  the case with the Amiga version, so I assume the P.C.
version as well):

If  you  skip  qualifying  and  go  straight  in  to  a  race, each drivers
qualifying position is based on team performance alone.  You therefore have
to  sit  through  the  qualifying  session  (stick it on accelerated time!)
before each race.  Before, I was getting Schumacher in pole, Verstappen 2nd
(sometimes  the  reverse  happened  arrggh!).  Afterwards, Schumacher still
gets  pole  position  (although  sometimes  Damon  Hill  manages  it!), and
Verstappen  lines  up  9th  or 10th.  Problem solved for the Amiga version,
hopefully with your P.C.  version too!

Well of course it is no longer a problem now that Johnny Herbert
is in the second seat at Benetton! (Sorry JJ)

You need to adjust his qualifying and race abilities.  It won't make him
too much slower, but it will knock him out of the top 3.

For example -   #5 = 750 HP   Q1  R1
                #6 = 750 HP   Q26 R28

Even though they have the same HP, JJ will be a bit slower.  This is
because he won't be as good in the corners.  He will still be just as
quick in the straights with that 750HP, but braking and cornering suffer.

If Q26 and R28 are still quick, go with a higher number.  You will be
limited to 34 as the highest.

Not knowing your other settings, I will estimate that JJ will now be back
to about 10th or 12th.  Once in a while he will still be in the top 5,
but there's nothing you can do about that.

Why should you? He did score one point in '94, and drove a Sauber to
10th yesterday...

Here's another pseudo-funny patriotic comment:
Now the problem is you have to get the guy to Not Finish every time ;-)
(Sorry Johnny, better luck in '95...)

Yeah, but how do you make sure it retires really early on in the race?
