I don't know who you really are, but I want to extend my most sincere
apologies for my unsportsman-like behavior online tonight on the DEMO DTR_7
server.  It was wrong of me to take you out like that, but after getting
taken out three times in a row on lap one for three consecutive 15-lap
races, and watching you blow by me as I spun each time, it sure seemed like
you had been out to get me for some unknown reason, and I guess I just had a
moment of "track rage."  That's no excuse for being a jerk, I know, and I
can't apologize enough, regardless of whether or not you had anything to do
with taking me out.

At any rate, I am sorry for being a jerk -- that kind of behavior really
ticks me off when I see it, and to become a part of it myself just makes me
feel even worse, and I'm truly sorry you ended up on the receiving end.

Drop me an e-mail if you'd like and I'll try to apologize even more
profusely in person.

Wow John lost it. I can't say as I blame him. I have stuck back like this as
well. There are some real mouth breathers that are playing DTR right now.
ANd it does make those of us who are a bit on the serious side see red. I
chalk it up to part of the experience factor. Hell***fights break out in
the pits of tracks all over the country. I feel this just adds more proof to
the arguement that DTR is a simulation. It causes real fights.

LOL!  I gotta admit, I DEFINITELY deserved that one! <G>

I'm going to try to encourage Ratbag to include a "Throw the helmet" feature
in DTR2 -- that way, when you get taken out, you can wait alongside the
track and launch your helmet at the offending party.  On the other hand,
THEY could try to run YOU down, so you'd have to think twice before using
this option (and if I would've thought twice, I wouldn't be feeling like

;-)

I want cant wait to see the new feature in DTR 2.  Dragging Tony.. hehe...
He reaches into
a car 28<g>.  Trying to hit a guy 6 feet away.  Get hung up on the webbing
and you get to
drag him around the track.. hehe..

I totaly agree, I've lost all interest with DTR becuase there are just
too many idiot drivers out there. I try to pass people cleanly and will
sacrifice a position to avoid a wreck. But there are just too many
people(kids) who punt you off the track or slam you into the wall and
think they are king shit.
They can have their dirt, it suits their driving and attitudes.

Come to think of it, a "helmet throw" option in DTR (or any other sim,
for that matter) would be kind of cool -- sort of like a "practical"
application of the funky "hornball" hack in Viper Racing.  Something
like this where you can launch a single projectile (that looks like a
helmet, of course) at someone in a show of protest would be kind of
cool -- a whole new level of realism, if you will.  It would definitely
have to be something non-destructive, though -- not like the
indestructible "hornball" boulder in Viper Racing.

I like it!  Anybody from Ratbag listening? <G>

Chalk up one more disgruntled DTR driver here. Last time I raced, I got taken
out in the first turn of the race by someone t-boning me at full speed 3 races
in a row, a different person each time. The offender always continued racing,
while I got enough damage to end my race. I've seen less first-lap carnage in
my years of N2 online racing. And since the races are very short, the
frustration level builds very rapidly if you get taken out a few times. DTR is
fun, but I haven't played in in a while because of that frustration.
