GP2 max speed down from 332 to approx. 318 (kph)

Hi,
I'm having trouble, completing practices.
My maximum speed at monza is usually 331 to 332 kph, but
after a while it locks up at 310-320. This happens after
having completed about 3 to 4 laps. It seems that the engine
has sort of been overreved. But this is speculative,
I've tried all of the possible damage selections, but it didn't work.

Has anyone experienced such things ?

(I'm using the German version)

It sounds to me like your plank has worn out! When you are driving the
first few laps, does the little car indicator on the bottom right of the
***pit flash yellow? And when you experience the slow-down, is it
flashing red? If so, then you will need to set the car ride height to be
higher to avoid wearing down the plank so much!

Cheers,
Richard

You're plank is probably worn more than the legal limit. In real life, you
would be disqualified, however, in GP2 you suffer a speed reduction. To
solve this you should increase the ride height of your car.

Look at your 'Plank', you've probably worn it away by running your car
too low.  If it shows red whilst driving along then it means you've worn
off more than the legal 0.1mm

Try adjusting the ride heights for both front and rear.  About 29 Front
and 54 rear are about right.

I might be wrong, but I don't think the slow-down is just an arbitrary penalty
by the game. It's simply that the aerodynamics of the bottom of the car are
severely changed, and this DOES affect topspeed.

Yes of course it does, but, in GP2 as soon as the plank display goes red
your car does not rev quite so high.

Another possibility is that you play with a steering wheel and that your
calibration becomes less and less precise.
To be sure, save the game after 3 laps (before your problems appear),
continue playing until they appear, then recalibrate and load your saved
game. If you have the same problem, the problem is your plank. If not, it
is your steering wheel.

Your ridehight is too low. Watch the warninglight on your lower
righthand site of the***pit. The green light indicates that the
condition of the plank is ok. yellow....well, take a guess. And you will
be punished by lower topspeed:)
You can check the plankwear in the setupmenu.
