I'm current using a Matrox Millenium II PCI with Voodoo1 card
and I am thinking of upgrading to Voodoo3 2000 (I have no AGP slot).

While I'm sure 3D performance will be greatly improved, I'm concerned that
the 2D performance will not be as good as the Matrox, which was the best
there was when I bought it.?

Any thoughts?

By todays standards the Matrox Mil II isn't really such a hot 2D card any
more. I was worried about leaving my G200 for a TNT but the picture quality
drop isn't all that noticable for my purposes. From what I've seen of the
V3 2000 I'd say it'll be on a par (or better) than your current card.

I realized a small decrease in 2d (benchmarks) when switching from my
Diamond Stealth 3D Vram to the Voodoo 3 2000.

But, since I'm *** in 3D, I don't care.
