NASCAR2 w/Cyrix166 chip?

I remember way back when NASCAR 2 was being released that there was
some conflicts with the Cyrix 166 chips. Is this still the case? I'd
like to know if it will run on my 166 w/Herc 4mg 2-D card & 16mgs in
DOS. Thanks in advance for any info.

Yes, N2 works with the Cyrix chips

The demo does not, and the jury may still be out on whether DMA-based
video cards (yours ain't one) work acceptably with the Cyrix chip.

It worked fine on my Cyrix P-166 o/c to 200 with both a S3 Trio 64 in
SVGA and in non-DMA on my Rendition V1000 3D Blaster.  It did as Jim
said have problems with the DMA (much faster) Rendition mode, but less
so on the 1.03 patched version.  Works much better on my K6 200 though,
joystick response feels a lot better.  The cyrix has a bit of a problem
with the joystick code in N2, but this was pretty well cured in the
patch, and I think it was mainly in the Rendition version anyway so you
should have no problems running it.

Ken is correct. You'll not have any problems running N2 on a 6x86
unless you have a Rendition video card and are trying to use the
renddma.bat . If you do, there may be some problems with joystick
calibration, kinda depends on your motherboard and how the chipset
handles DMA
