Two options spring to mind.

1. he did post it and is a liar

2. someone got hold of his account and / or computer & posted in his
name.

If it is the former, he deserves all the contempt he can get (for the
lying bit that is - I would have no trouble if whoever posted it said
"sorry, in a bad mood, please forget it...."). If it is the latter
option, he needs to do some investigative work to find out who the
jerk really is. Otherwise he could be in for a really hard time...

(It is also an outside possibility that someone managed to forge the
header information. It is not impossible, but would take a _lot_ of
effort to do it as comprehensively)

He says he didn't post it. I have no reason to believe that he is
lying when he says this. If you really have proof that he sat at his
keyboard & typed it in, then post it. If not, then give the guy at
least half a chance.

Okay,  I've found the proof that proves M Darrel Young is GUILTY.  Here's my proof:

The addresses are near same,  both are from ix.netcom.com
Further proof M Darrel Young spilled out by himself.  He said the reason that
the sentences are so close together is because my newsreader.  Take note that the
"ATTN:  Ed" post has the sentences put together.  And his "THAT WAS NOT.." post
had the same thing!  Also,  the "FINAL.." post has the same.  Do you consider it
concidental that the so-called "MDYoung imposter" has the same NEWSREADER as the real
as the real MDYoung.

I rest my case,  feel free to comment on the proof I have here.

Perhaps we should call in Columbo. Let this damn thing die. Frankly I don't
care what Mr. Young thinks about Ed, and Ed probably doesn't either. There is
obviously gonna be a few questionable posts when there is 200+ coming in every
day.

I'm sorry about this post.  I just got a comment from M Darrell Young telling me
his side of the story,  and it made sense.   I'm now neutral,  I don't beleive anything
at the moment

And if it wasn't M Darrell Young,  then it WAS:

(Hint,hint,hint)

Exactly what sort of shitty news-reader is he using that doesn`t allow
spaces between sentences? I suppose he is also running a PC that has a
little man at the back dumping coal into it.

You've got to be kidding.....

If I ever get a speeding ticket, remind me not to hire you as my
lawyer.  By the time you were done, I'd be doing life in prison.

Bottom line.... who cares?

CR

Oh, by the way... posting stuff like this to try and publicly destroy
someone's character is a good way to have it all turned around on you.

Very clever, young Sherlock!

MDYoung (or his newsreader) puts no space behind a full stop.I think
this is conclusive proof that *I* am MDYoung.Isn't it?

On the other hand,  I could place two spaces behind every comma,  full
stop,  or semicolon,  and configure my NEWSREADER to use 90 characters
per line.  Then,  I would be *YOU*!  Maybe you,  MDYoung, and I are the
same person...? Scary, isn't it?

Really, you should be more careful when choosing your "proof" before
you accuse someone in public. I don't know whether or not Mr. Young
was the author of the original posting. But consider the following:
Mr. Young seems very unhappy about this posting in his name. If he
were the author of this flame to Mr. Martin, why would he care what
people think about him? If he wanted to publicly flame Mr. Martin
*without* people knowing it was him, why didn't he choose an anonymous
remailer? And if it was him, why did he post under his *own* name from
a *different* account on the *same* ISP?

In turn, what would you do if you wanted to give someone a bad
reputation? Tell you what I would do: Try to get access to an account
on the victims ISP, so the message looks authentic, and emulate the
person's style of writing. It really isn't that hard to do.See above.

The defense rests it's case too, and pleads to dismiss the charges on
grounds of insufficient evidence and reasonable doubt.

Well, you *are* aren't you :)

Ah hah! The plot thickens.

I wondered when someone would think of that.
Although, Point of interest (maybe), anon.penet.fi doesn't cover this
group.

Proof that M Darrel Young is a liar about his post

by DJ Hore » Sun, 04 Aug 1996 04:00:00

I've just completed my web page, and I invite anyone to stop by
for a visit.

        http://www.ovnet.com/~djh

Now, don't expect much. I've seen other people announce new
pages here, and a few days later I see replies like, "There's nothing
there!" or, "It reeks of ineptitude!" Welp, that may be your response
to my page. :)

The main point of interest is a car set I've designed. It's a
set of street stocks -- after a Hawaii race or a league race, there's
nothing like slamming around for 15 laps at Martinsville or Bristol
with a pack of old Camaros and Barracudas and 1980s Monte Carlos and
a few Fords and Pontiacs (and a Buick) thrown in for good measure.
Credit is given where credit is due in the info.txt file.

I have a blast with it, and if anyone happens to download it, I'd
like to know what you think of it. Don't expext Picasso-like
renditions, but the cars are not messy and all of the foreground
and background colors match. They're not streamlined works of art,
but they're not eyesores, either.  :)

Thanks, and go forth to trash my page. I don't mind. :)
