Hi,

I'm looking for some lotus setups for the HistoricRank tracks. I have
found a few of PJ's but find his very hard to drive. Looking for
something a little more "stable". Any help would be great.
Thanks,

Richard

"Stable" and "Lotus" are an oxymoron. You know, like "jumbo shrimp",
etc., etc. <VBG>

Alison Hine's setups are fairly stable, but I forget her URL.
EagleWoman something or other.

Good luck!

Everyone has their own style, and Paul Jackson's style may not suit you
but his setup are well developed & well worth using as a base to tweak.

Compared to my own setups Paul's diff settings (ramp angles & clutches)
are usually very stiff. Try loosening the diff to suit your own style.

If you find a particular driver's setup suits you for a few tracks
chances are that driver's setups will suit you for other tracks too, but
no one can tell you what's right for you, you just have to get a load &
try them ;-)

Also, most setups for one twisty track (say Mosport) will usually suit
most other twisty tracks, and so on. Just tweak the camber & gearing for
the new track. With high power & low grip in the 67 cars it's more
important (for speed & consistency) that your car is predictable for you
than any particular settings be of a certain value.

I tend to use one basic setup for all cars & tracks, which I tweak to
allow for the type of track, weight balance & power of the chassis etc.

Set the brake balance to 57% and the diff to 85/30. They're much more
user friendly like that.

WHere did you find PJ's at...  I just got help getting GPL running again
last night...  My sets were downloaded like in 1999  there's got to be
better  LOL!!!!

PS, Running the *FEW* laps in PWF PTA mod has resulted in me losing nearly
all of what miniscule skill I had aquired in GPL, so if you see me on the
track...  just wait a few seconds, it is easier to pass me as I spin off the
track at the next apex...  LOL

I got used to almost Throwing the NR2003 mods into a drift, and GPL is the
opposite, as you try to nurse and carefully drift them...

Thanks guys. Some good advice. I appreciate the help and I think I
will try changing PJ's setups as mentioned and see if I can make them
"driveable".

Richard.

Hi Kevin,

Just tried your suggestion of front brake of 57% and ramp angles 85/30
on PJ's Aintree setup. Wow. It was great. I could brake in a straight
line and accelerate in a straight line. Only 3 seconds off the
benchmark in my first 5 laps. Great tip. Thanks allot I appreciate it.
