Faster starts with BRM

I've been racing the BRM for about a week now and having
been doing OK with it.  In corners I feel that it is slighty
better than most cars and with a little setup modifications
it is just as fast as the Brabham and Eagle down the
straights.  Unfortunately my '89 Ford Tempo is faster off
the line and out of hairpins(ie hairpin at Rouen, La Source)
then the BRM is.  Can anyone help me to get a faster start
out of this car?

Are you using Auto-shifting?  That could slow your starts.  Problem is, I can't
handle shifting AND driving(yet), so I'm screwed...

Don't know if there can be much done to speed up its low end
performance. I think it has more to do with the engine in the car. Kinda
like my Mitsubishi Eclipse, it seems slow at start and low revs but
really hauls when up in the RPM's  :-)
