It's interesting, and there certainly don't seem to be many happy campers.
For the Nascar Pro Digital Wheel, I wonder if many of the problems are due
to DirectX 7, USB/Win98 problems, or the wheel itself?

Like most newsgroups and forums, people with no problems have no reason to
write in, so it's not surprising that you hear from people with problems.
The bad part is that it seems no one has solutions for these problems yet.

A couple weeks ago, I was on there quite a bit. ***y enough, they
actually do moderate it sometimes, but won't give out technical support and
the intro to the forum says they won't. Of  course, many of the people
complaining have never emailed their tech support and really should try that
first, but still, you'd think that Gmot  would understand that if they
answer a question on the forum, other readers can pass along the solutions.
I'm sure Gmot would then receive less tech emails asking the same questions
over and over. They are stubborn.

Perhaps a "bit" off topic..... but let it be known that PDPI will have a
forum for questions of all types, and it will be monitored closely. We will
be posting answers on the forum for EVERYONE to read, and if there is an
issue with any of our controllers, we will fix it, and post a message not
only on the PDPI forum.... but on NGs like this. We are big enough to admit
if we screwed up, unfortunately... many others in the industry are not...

Cheers,

Shumi

P.S. Looked into the problem personally, and YUP you guessed it.....
positioning resolution butchery that is haunting them. I'm sorry if I poorly
contain my smerk as I reminisce the statement from Guillemot when I warned
them that cutting into the PR would cause MAJOR problems. Their reply was
"The end user won't even notice it..." Go look in their forum and you'll
notice more than a few alreaady have..... too bad... the wheels are
ergonomically and aesthetically pleasing IMHO.

P.S.S. Extremely sorry if I sound like a troll or a sales brochure..... just
wanted to let yas know that we are listening..... we are Sim fanatics
ourselves, and have/currently share in the same frustrations you do as far
as service, support, and reliability. We have long laughed at the point of
public forums for individual company's sites, that the companies themselves
never reply to publicly. What's the point of even having it?

Shumi,

I've been following this thread with a great deal of interest. I'm
presently using a MSFF and really like it. But I do know it's limitations
and drawbacks. I wouldn't shelve it for any other current FF wheel, but the
PDPI controller sure seems like the next step.
