Anyone had any luck running this DOS game on Win95?  I read a little
on AOL(sorry I had to) , it seems like it can work.  I just can't give
up my racing sim for just a new operating system. :)

Give me some feedback please.

Nascar Runs Fine under Win95, just make a shortcut for
nascar.exe and click.  However it is a bit slower this way, so
I usually set it up to reboot and run under MS-DOS.

No problem here, comes up recommending SAM but I just changed the
shortcut and it works fine.  Not too much slower although you probably
won't want a lot running in the background.

Tom,

You don't have to give up your racing sim for a new OS.  First of all, I
have Win 95 and I have not been able to get Nascar to run under it.  All
you have to do, though is either push F8 during startup, which will
bring you to a DOS prompt, or boot Win 95 and then restart the computer
in MS-DOS mode.  Very simple.

I had problems running Nascar 1.1 under Win95.  However, the
nas121.exe patch fixed all those...

I have been able to get Nascar running under '95 without rebooting the OS to DOS mode.
If you have enough horsepower on your pc you simple need to create a shortcut to
the nascar.exe.  In the shortcut properties you need to modify the MS-DOS session
to run in a full screen mode, do not report windows is running to the dos program and
do not suggest MS-DOS mode.  That will do the trick!  I even have the sound working
and I cant say I notice a performance difference one way or the other.
