of like Geocities in terms of advertising, but the access is
natiowide and its free.  That like $200.00 a year for me..

Thanks for the info Don!!

All,
So now I've tried it and can say...it ain't for racin', but it's sure got
alot of other uses, i.e. surfing, D/L'ing, etc. Casual users, or folks
required to have an internet connection for file transfers etc, could find
this perfect. BUT as stated above, when I tried TEN, I could create & start
a race, but it choked at the splash screen (Never made it to latency #,
kicked me back to arena).
The "Commercial Window" [note: you can make the footprint of this a little
smaller, by right clicking on it & unchecking view--> title, buttons] is
constantly running, so I assume that is what kacked it (which is too bad,
cuz I did get real good tracert numbers with this 50,666 connection). When
D/L'ing with the commercials running, I could still get transfer rates of
about 4.0 Kbps (or whatever, you know what I mean :-)).
It took a few tries to get me logged in, so if it doesn't work at first,
keep trying...MHO, great for a "Family" account, or in my case, to refer
some customers to that need to do file transfers via the net, but can now
save $20/mo.

We have one of those free ISPs in the Seattle area called freei.net. i
was able to get around the commercial window simply by creating a
shortcut to the Dial-up networking connection that it created, rather
than just using the free ISP's launcher. See if you can do that with
yours.
Cheers,
Chris

The license agreement very clearly states that NOT running through their
software will cost you $59.95/month + possible legal costs. Wanna chance it?
I have heard from 1 other person that tried it, and was able to race on TEN
OK at 2 out of 3 Zones, I'll have to try again...
