First the background:

We're about six weeks from settling down in an apartment complex in Grapevine,
TX...our unit is still under construction.  The complex had been attempting to
get high speed internet capability (probably DSL) through Verizon and have
given it up due to failure of the telco to deliver.

Now I'm told that the complex is completing an agreement with BroadbandNOW for
cable modem services for residents.

Now the questions:

Does anyone here have experience with that provider re online racing?

Aside from firewalls (such as ZA, etc.) what other steps should I take (other
than lots of seat time!) for a satisfying online experience?

Should I insist on some special type of modem?

TIA,

Tom

As far as online racing goes I have no idea, as far as an ISP I used to work
for them on a contract basis for my company and all I can say is they really
suck. we had people waiting to get installed for months. Sometimes I had to
return to a customers apartment 4 or 5 times because the idiots at the NOC
were to brain dead  to correct the problem.
