Cart and Dolby Surround

If anyone else has had this problem I would really appreciate your advice.
In Cart Precision Racing, if I go to the sound menu and select dolby
surround, then leave the sound menu, then return to the sound menu the
selection is back on Mono. I can't seem to get the selection to stay on
Dolby Surround. I can select Stereo ok.
Any ideas?

I think it's because your Soundcard and Speaker System aren't compatible
with DirectSound in Dolby Surround, probably only in Stereo and mono mode.

You know there is no gain of hearing in pro-logic with normal speakers. You
need some special ones who are made for Pro-logic or Dolby mode.
Altec-Lansing ACS-495 are an example of this.

Thanks, but I have a Dolby Pro logic decoder and 5 speakers.

I have a Soundblaster AWE 32. I don't need a 3D sound card do I, like
Monster 3D sound card? The normal Dolby pro logic of home entertainment
systems only decodes from the stereo output from a stereo Video doesn't it.
