ICR2 and swap file

I am running a Pentium 233 MMX with a matrox millenium 4 meg video card, 64
megs ram and plenty of hard disk space. Every couple of minutes or so the
game writes to the hard drive and during this time the game pauses and jerks
about four times in a row making it impossible to control the car. I have
tried making a permanent swap disk but no help. Is this a given problem with
running under WIN95? How about the new CART version,
same issue? What can be done?

Seems like you have a fast enough system, so I doubt you can really do
anything else. If you have the DOS version of ICR2, run it under DOS
instead.

I haven't tried the CART re-release version, but highly doubt anything
was changed except the packaging and the name.  I scrapped the Win95
version soon after installing it.  Run the pure DOS version in a pure
DOS environment.

You're gonna have to either buy a super-computer in order to play
a game or switch to a _real_ multitasking environment

Running it under Dos also has the huge advantage of Full Screen
replays with sound. There's no going back after that, believe me.
