Is it possible to dirve with newer Cars in GPL, like Porsche GT3.
I mean cars from today.
The driving Model in GPL is so realistic, that it woul be very great to
drive with actual cars.
Are there still any cars for downloading ?

Thanks

Nope.

I do wonder why the original carset is in a directory called 'cars67',
because it clearly implies that extendability was a concern in the
production of the game.

Hype. He wants something tangible.

Not at the moment, it would be posable to make new car shapes but Very hard
(1 car = 2 tracks aparently) and there is either no way to change the car
physics without the GPL sorce code. Or the people that know how to do it are
useing it for there own gain / not relesing it for fear of killing the GPL
comunity.

Your best bet is to wait for WSC.

It is truely a shame that the GPL  bodies aren't as easily modifiable
as those in SCGT. Granted,, the physics wouldn't change but it would
be nice to see a Shelby Cobra or Daytona Coupe body in GPL, that would
be ***y awesome !!
