ICR2 Patch Install...

by Nick Totor » Mon, 22 Jul 1996 04:00:00

I already run the complete installation of the game on my second
hard drive. Is it necessary to install the patch then reinstall the
game? I'm just curious... I've always used the complete install and was
wondering if the reinstall is necessary only for those currently using
the CD-ROM install.

The "re-install" is required to insure that all files are updated.  If
there are files that the patch needs to fix which do not match the
original they are skipped.  If you haven't played with the files except
the drivers2.txt and the cars95.dat file, there is probably no need to
re-install.  The reason for the complete installation is to insure all
files are updated.  Much of the patch fixes files that reside on the
"read-only" CD-ROM for those that did a limited installation.
