tidbits for GPL fans.
1. There is a new book called "Lotus 49: The Story of a legend" by David
Oliver which gets a good review. I noticed it can be pre-ordered on
amazon.com The ISBN number is 1901295516. It covers the complete
evolution of the 49, and apparently also has good insight into Clark and
Hill. "Jimmy never used the brakes, he could nearly run a season on a set
of pads but Graham couldn't get through the weekend"
2. Also recommended are two (pricey) books called Racers 1948-1968 and
Racers 1969-2000: The Legends of Formula One by Nye and Henry. In a nice
twist on the usual, Denny Hulme is the cover boy for the early book.
3. Various vintage F1s are for sale (no prices though). A 1970 Denny
Hulme McLaren M14A/2, a 1976 McLaren M26/1 (ex Hunt) and a 1976 Ferarri
312T2 (ex Reutemann). Also an assortment of old Can am beasts and a
Cooper Climax. We can all dream, right?
4. A profile of Jack Brabham.
5. A full article about the Tyrell P34 (six-wheeler).
Fun stuff.
