I have a J. Gordon car I'm thinking of selling.  (5 or 6 inches long
equal 1/24th scale?).  I bought this used in 95 or 96 and checked the
Internet to see how much it was going for at that time and it seems I paid a
good price for it.  I did a search just now on Collectibles, Revell, and an
assortment of other topics to find someplace to get a current price on this
to no avail.  Someone want to help me out and post a web site for me?

snip
Sounds like a 1:43 scale to me. Diecast prices have fallen worse than the stock
market. Glad my 300+ are for show...YEAH RIGHT

I stopped collecting nascar diecast a couple of years ago. They've
saturated the market with constant "special" paint schemes, and
collectors are losing interest in droves.

I've started collecting classic american race cars.  Like you Dan, I
don't collect for the car's resale value, and I even threw the
packaging away for every one of the almost 500 1/64 nascar cars I
have.

The Buddystoys site had the Dupont/Coke car listed as 1995 so it may
have been 95-96-97 when I got this thing.  Unfortunately they list the
Racing Champions version and not the Revell :-(  Thanks for the links though
:-)

Michael:

Your best bet is to find a bookstore/newsstand (B&N and Kroger's comes
to mind here in Cincinnati) that sells the magazine "Die Cast Digest."

From there, take they're book value and divide by 2-4 to get a "real"
price. ;)

Another bet is perodically snoop eBay to see what they go for.
