GP2: Glad to hear good news

I would hate to think that I have just purchased a P133 system -- with the
thought that it will satisfy GP2 easily -- only to be running the simulator
in half-ass mode. This is ridiculous! Certainly optimizing code and
programming it all in an efficient manner would improve performance. I am a
die-hard GP1 fan, and have been fro years. As most of you, I am anxiously
awaiting the sequel, and subsequently bought the fastest machine to date.
This is quite irritating....

True, Geoff does great work, but look at how long this is taking. ICR1 was
out significantly later than GP1; and they now have the sequel to that out
already! Given that timeline, GP should be on its third iteration. I am
being patient (honest), but when you see Papyrus getting product out the
door in a more efficient manner, you have to question the business operation
at MicroProse and/or GC. Certainly, any company wanting to maintain its
existance would ensure product readiness during the busiest time of the year
-- Christmas! I hope all of this delay stuff will prove to be a big hoax. I
am looking forward to Dec 11. I hope to be playing GP2 by then, and I want
it to be kicking ass on my system.

Thanks,

Ralph.

Sorry Carlos but you comment about the group seeming more like a ICR2
group lately is a bit short sighted. When NFS was the new kid on the
block it got 70-80% of the attention, now that we can all "touch" ICR2
and only continue to guess about GP2 I think it is fairly reasonable to
talk about fact and not fiction. Microprose have shown very little
interest in providing the BUYING public with information so I think it is
quite reasonable for people to be giving up on GP2 for a while......you
watch when it is released (probably by a little green men from Mars at
this rate!!!).

GP2: Glad to hear good news

Youre right Anthony, I think that I am feeling a bit frustrated about
the release of GP2. Ive played F1GP since I had my Amiga long a go
and I still play it very ofen, and when I look at the screen shots
theyve showed us and watch the release dates being pushed back again
and again I feel a little bit mad. Specially since they (MP,SH) gave
us so high expectations about the game and then just only silence.

Nevertheless,  the main purpose of my post is to get those guys saying
something. When we read your post we see that they are already loosing
some credibility. People gets fed up of waiting and then loose
interest in the subject (as I mentioned before), and besides taht,
other games are comming ...

I think you were righth when you said that my comment about the
newsgroup was a little "short sighted" but it was not my intention to
criticize the group for becoming more ICR2 oriented. I dont have
anything against ICR2, I play it too (ICR) and I dont even like to
see people criticizing one game over the other just for the pleasure
of doing so and whithout giving any good reasons. I think that
competition is good and the more there is the more we have to gain. My
intention was to awake the people responsible to the increasing
indiference about the game that I believe will be a one of the best
ever made, and that they could be (??) a lot more cooperative towards
their future costumers and suporters.

Once again, I hope they tell us something about it.

ICR2 and GP2 are the best !!!

Thank you Anthony.
