   Free?  Go for it.

But I think I got a good value when I paid list price for my ECCS
CDS2.

For free, why not... But don't expect much from this... if you want
any kind of analog control of the gas and brake you will have to use
the shifter, It calibrates as the Y axis. I think they retail for
around $39.95. I think with wheels, you get what you pay for.

If I am correct (and as we all know I hardly am <G>), this is a very old
product and there are very few sim programs that allow controlling via
the mouse.  If this is the system I recall, you place your mouse in the
device and the "steering column" turns the mouse ball.  If this is the
case, free may not be a good price if no programs support mouse
controllers for steering, etc.

Mouse Systems told me it was a new product.  This isn't like what you're
referring to - it's a wheel with buttons for gas/brakes and a shifter.  They
sold > 100 of them at each fo two local stores in two days, dunno how
many at the third.  That'll learn me to waffle around for even one day.

I used it to play Ultimate Race pro on a p2-300 v2.  The wheel is ok, especially
for the price.  The shifter is actually your throttle, and the buttons on the
shifter work for shifting (or whatever).  It is plastic, and cannot take much
abuse, but it is definately better than a stick.  If you dont want to spend
$100+ on a better wheel, but still want one, get it!  I have the Nascar Pro
wheel, which works for me.
